There's been a git repo on ada.openldap.org for a couple months now, and you already have access to it. clone it and run to your heart's content...

I've temporarily copied this to http://highlandsun.com/hyc/ldap.git until we get everything set up on cvs-master.openldap.org.

The upload/processing is still not finished, but I suspect by the time anyone reads this email it will be done. If not, there's a temporary copy at http://highlandsun.com/hyc/openldap.mp4

Yeah, the beginning is quite striking; of course when I watched it (being rendered at the blistering rate of 3 frames per second, woohoo) more of the details stood out. Watching all the files spring up out of nowhere, that Kurt pushed in pretty much single-handedly, is quite impressive.

Yeah, it's quite amazing what Kurt took on at the beginning when all the other takers of the umich code were companies!

Shortened version, 6:15 long: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sClZGLZ6dY
The youtube playback looks kinda weird in my browser.
This little experience also turned up a couple bugs in gource and ffmpeg...

Bummer. The timescale is already compressed by a huge factor, but I may try another run at it later. Too bad this thing is all dependent on OpenGL, doesn't take any advantage of multiple CPU cores. (And our multiprocessor servers invariably have wimpy GPUs...) It's several hours to generate the raw frames...
