Personally I very much prefer an A4 default, which doesn't make printers stop and ask to change tray or config or whatever. But I don't know if it's the opposite way at the other side of the pond.
You can change this prior to print anyway.
If the doc tells me to, and I notice, and I didn't get the document from someone else...
