Issue ID: 9593
Summary: excessive null check in set_chase()
Product: OpenLDAP
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: ---
Component: slapd
Assignee: bugs(a)openldap.org
Reporter: grapvar(a)gmail.com
Target Milestone: ---
Looks like slap_set_join( cp, nset, '|', vals ) can't return null, so return
value at line 411 should be treated like one at line 402:
servers/slapd/sets.c:399, set_chase():
for ( i = 0; !BER_BVISNULL( &set[ i ] ); i++ ) {
vals = gatherer( cp, &set[ i ], desc );
if ( vals != NULL ) {
/*402: */ nset = slap_set_join( cp, nset, '|', vals );
}
}
ber_bvarray_free_x( set, cp->set_op->o_tmpmemctx );
if ( closure ) {
for ( i = 0; !BER_BVISNULL( &nset[ i ] ); i++ ) {
vals = gatherer( cp, &nset[ i ], desc );
if ( vals != NULL ) {
/*411: */ nset = slap_set_join( cp, nset, '|', vals );
if ( nset == NULL ) {
break;
}
}
}
}

If I'm wrong, return value at line 402 must be checked for null.

Issue ID: 9651
Summary: Add some kind of rate limiting option to ldapmodify
Product: OpenLDAP
Version: 2.5.6
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: ---
Component: client tools
Assignee: bugs(a)openldap.org
Reporter: hyc(a)openldap.org
Target Milestone: ---
When using ldapmodify to replay a testing workload it would be useful to be
able to specify a request rate, instead of just performing multiple operations
in immediate succession. As a simpler alternative, just being able to specify a
time interval between operations would be helpful.
As an even greater future enhancement, it would be nice to have an option to
replay an accesslog.ldif directly, using its embedded timestamps to control the
time interval between operations. Currently this isn't feasible since reqstart
timestamps only have 1-second granularity, the fraction part is a linear
counter and not a microsecond value. The reqStart fraction would need to be
extended to 9 decimal places with full nanosecond resolution in order to be
usable as actual fractional time. We already know that microsecond resolution
is insufficient to avoid frequent collisions.

Summary: test029 can't pass with SLAPD_USE_SASL is set
Product: OpenLDAP
Version: unspecified

OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Keywords: needs_review
Severity: normal
Priority: ---
Component: test suite
Assignee: bugs(a)openldap.org
Reporter: ondra(a)mistotebe.net
Target Milestone: ---
Running make test with SLAPD_USE_SASL set will fail test029. There is even a
comment there that we can't support that functionality as-is when SASL binds
are configured. We should probably remove that part of the test or skip it
unconditionally for now.

Issue ID: 9612
Summary: Change index_hash64 default to on
Product: OpenLDAP
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: ---
Component: slapd
Assignee: bugs(a)openldap.org
Reporter: quanah(a)openldap.org
Target Milestone: ---
Change the default value of index_hash64. By default this means slapd won't
run on a 32-bit CPU (It will continue to work on 32-bit OSes running on 64-bit
CPUs).
If someone needs to run slapd on a 32-bit CPU they can turn this option off.
In the documentation, mark the option as deprecated for eventual removal in a
future release.

Summary: RFE: More metrics in cn=monitor
Product: OpenLDAP
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: ---
Component: backends
Assignee: bugs(a)openldap.org
Reporter: michael(a)stroeder.com
Target Milestone: ---
Currently I'm grepping metrics from syslog with mtail:
https://gitlab.com/ae-dir/ansible-ae-dir-server/-/blob/master/templates/mta…
With a new binary logging this is not possible anymore.
Thus it would be nice if cn=monitor provides more metrics.
1. Overall connection count per listener starting at 0 when started. This would
be a simple counter added to:
entries cn=Listener 0,cn=Listeners,cn=Monitor
2. Counter for the various "deferring" messages separated by the reason for
deferring.
3. Counters for all possible result codes. In my mtail program I also label it
with the result type.

we may want to shift to using xorshift in libldap/dnssrv.c in a future release.

Issue ID: 10064
Summary: Add modrdn support for Cft_Misc entries
Product: OpenLDAP
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Keywords: needs_review
Severity: normal
Priority: ---
Component: slapd
Assignee: bugs(a)openldap.org
Reporter: ondra(a)mistotebe.net
Target Milestone: ---
Currently in cn=config, there is some special handling to maintain overlays/dbs
entries to allow list-like management. All module defined entries are marked
Cft_Misc and this behaviour is not available there.
It boils down to allowing the module to screen rename/renumber requests and
having bconfig defer to that callback if it's defined.
Use-case: policy selection rules in ITS#9343 would benefit from being managed
this way rather than having to reparse a long line every time a rule is
adjusted.

Issue ID: 9431
Summary: back-mdb: Always have an equality index for
objectClass
Product: OpenLDAP
Version: 2.5
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: ---
Component: backends
Assignee: bugs(a)openldap.org
Reporter: quanah(a)openldap.org
Target Milestone: ---
Data storage backends require an equality index on objectClass to function
correctly. As this is a hard requirement it should be automatic with back-mdb.
Why this wasn't done in the past with other backends isn't exactly clear, it
may have been due to their requirements to have additional cache layers. That
however is not necessary with back-mdb.
