Re: (ITS#6173) Error while making

I recommend upgrading both BDB and OpenSSL. You might want to check
out the following sites which offer fairly recent precompiled packages
of open source software to save yourself a few headaches on AIX...
http://pware.hvcc.edu
http://www.perzl.org/aix
OpenLDAP does not require SASL, but you might need it depending on how
you plan to deploy the former.

The details here are unimportant. Since entry cache items hang off of dncache
items, the only consequence of a "wrong" configuration here is that the entry
cache could only ever grow to the size of the dncache.
At any rate, the code has been patched to set dncachesize >= cachesize, and
the manpage updated correspondingly, but there's no critical problem without
this patch.

This is not documented, neither in manpage nor admin guide.
Also slapd should preferably catch attempts to set them wrong, and
either adjust them or fail the change. That's so for many config
options, but more important for interactions between options.
If that's fixed by adjusting the input values, then cachesize
configuration can be simplified for users: Given cachesize,
calculate the recommended defaults for the other cache size
variables (idlcachesize, dncachesize, cachefree). Keep the
real variables used by the backend separate, copied/defaulted
from input variables that are set by cn=config and not defaulted.

Does this also happen when running recent OpenLDAP release 2.4.16 built
