Actually, I didn't think that the contrib overlays (and especially ppm, which is an overlay extension), were also frozen in the LTS.
Can you clarify this point (if there is a defined policy)?
In the present case, there is only a new config parameter, so backward compatibility should be ensured, maybe can it be included in 2.5?
