i've tried creating an account on https://git.openldap.org a few weeks ago, but it is still awaiting approval. it has the same email as this bugzilla account.

We get hundreds of spam account requests, it's virtually impossible to know who is legit. :( Filing the website bug was the correct way to indicate you're real. ;)
