Issue ID: 9981 Summary: Apropos man page search on openldap.org appears to never return any results Product: OpenLDAP Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Keywords: needs_review Severity: normal Priority: --- Component: documentation Assignee: bugs@openldap.org Reporter: max.spicer@york.ac.uk Target Milestone: ---
The Apropos feature at https://www.openldap.org/software/man.cgi does not seem to ever return any results. This makes it difficult to search the documentation.
For example, with the defaults selected, enter any of the following terms and click the Apropos button: "ldap", "slapd", "olcPasswordHash".

--- Comment #1 from Howard Chu hyc@openldap.org --- You're not meant to rely on the website docs. You should be using the manpages installed on your own machine with the specific revision of OpenLDAP installed there.

--- Comment #2 from Quanah Gibson-Mount quanah@openldap.org --- If I put in a term (such as ldap) it immediately returns, with a very small message:
"Sorry, no data found for `ldap'. You may look for other FreeBSD Search Services."

--- Comment #3 from max.spicer@york.ac.uk --- Is no results really the expected behaviour? I am assuming that the Apropos button should function like the `apropos` command on one's own machine that has a specific version of OpenLDAP installed.
It is not always possible to have every required version installed on your own machine so being able to refer to docs on openldap.org is useful and likewise to be able to search them.
