The RIDs aren't stored by syncprov and don't need to be stored by the consumer. Their only purpose is to allow sysadmins to distinguish between multiple consumers configured within a single process.
There's no evidence of an OpenLDAP bug here. Software questions should be directed to the openldap-technical mailing list. Closing this ticket.
