Since these updates are important to syncrepl behavior, could it be worth
considering a v2.4.30 at this point?
Unless, of course, there are other imminent *important* changes which
justify a 2.4.30 after these are completed, i.e. a bit (but not much!)
later.
There will be a 2.4.30 release when it is time for one. There are several
issues currently being resolved. I will call for testing as soon as those
issues are worked out.
