I can also NOT reproduce this with OpenLDAP 2.3.43 on Solaris 10. So this seems to be a regression in OpenLDAP 2.4.x
For the moment I'm sticking with 2.3, though it still doens't solve my problem of hashing passwords on change (exop's don't seem to be triggered)
