If one has a back-mdb database, some searches on the indexed attr of "cn" fail. I do not see this issue with an identically configured back-hdb install.

In checking some other entries, it only appears to occur with the filters:

"(cn=zimbra)"

and

"(cn=config)"

All other cn=xxxx values I tested work correctly.
