BTW, the IETF just published International Email stuff as Proposed. And, at brief look at it, yes, it does seem like they use UTF-8 on the wire with fallback to some ASCII address if the wire doesn't support the UTF8 extension. For White Pages applications, one could see it desirable to have a UTF-8 version of 'mail'. Fallback, if one considers it, looks to be messy. Probably would be good for some email MTA and MUA developers to sort out what want in the directory and put forth an I-D here (with the help of some directory folks). -- Kurt

smbk5pwd is the strangest failure, since there are no #includes preceding portable.h and slap.h to interfere. My guess is RHEL[34] need a compilation flag like -pthread to enable threading. If you can still test this, check against which options OpenLDAP uses when compiling an overlay in slapd/overlays/. If that's not it, run the gcc compile command but replace '-c (-o foo.o)' with '-E -dD -o foo.i' This puts the preprocessor output plus macro definitions in foo.i, which should ease comparing with the /usr/include/ files and see why the pthread_rwlock_t def is excluded. -- Hallvard
