I recommend upgrading both BDB and OpenSSL. You might want to check out the following sites which offer fairly recent precompiled packages of open source software to save yourself a few headaches on AIX... http://pware.hvcc.edu http://www.perzl.org/aix OpenLDAP does not require SASL, but you might need it depending on how you plan to deploy the former.
