Hello all,
I saw on a book
what book?
that OpenLDAP locks parent entries when an entry is
updating... It's true ?
Example :
If I'm updating "uid=username,ou=Users,dc=mydomain",
"ou=Users,dc=mydomain" and all children will be locked (write lock?)
while the update is performing ??
Are you kidding? Who can write that type of crap? There used to be a
giant write lock in back-ldbm ages ago, which locked up the whole
database, not just descendants, while writing. Nothing like that occurs
since back-bdb (and back-hdb), which means since OpenLDAP 2.0 (back to
2000).
