PHP 7.2.0 was released a few weeks ago: https://secure.php.net/archive/2017.php#id2017-11-30-1

Note that support for LDAP controls is in the git branch for PHP 7.3. Do not hesitate to have a look and give feedback about this, it’s way easier to change things before first release as PHP have a strong backward compatibility policy.
