Hi all, I have an address book of 540 entries, and I cannot get openLDAP to return them all... back-sql with thunderbird-frontend fails

Hi, I have an OpenLDAP running with the back-sql. On ldapsearch it runs quite good, but thunderbird refuses to use the LDAP addressbook. In the logged query, excerpts see below, it requests it's "secondary" attributes like custom1 etc.. These attributes are not part of any schema. What's the solution: 1. to modify all thunderbirds configuration, where the secondary attributes are configured. There are some th...!? 2. defining my own schema to extend the mozillaAbPersonAlpha-schema? 3. Looking for a schema in the net? Any suggestions what to do? when you place the export amount of zimbra and then only throw me different errors ldap Could not add object: cn=central,ou=people,dc=domainname,dc=org LDAP said: LDAP_UNDEFINED_TYPE The attribute type specified is invalid. would have to create the values to import the schema? best regard Claudio

Exporting the data will place all of your LDAP Data into a single, movable .LDIF file. su – zimbra openldap/sbin/slapcat -f /opt/zimbra/conf/slapd.conf -l /tmp/ldap.ldif 6.0+: /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmslapcat /backup when you imported a number of mistakes and I pulled that scheme is another way, how could I make a proper import or apply some filter to get all of zimbra thanks.

Hi I've followed Adam's post below on 'using pam_groupdn to use dynlist' to my query posted couple of months back and after revisiting this configuration facing issue with doing ssh to client machine with dynamic member of the group. It works correctly for the static members of the same group.Could you figure out if I'm missing something here?? Communicate from php/apache to openLDAP over LDAPS

Hi I'm writing from france cuz i'm having a big problem with apache and ldap. let me explain : I would like to make an Apache server communicate in php with en openLDAP server (both servers are under win srv 2003), using LDAPS protocol. In order to activate LDAPS on my openLDAP srv (srvLDAP), I created self signed certificates with openSSL. I got 3 files: cacert.pem srvLDAP.pem srvLDAP.key I configured my slapd.con file and ldap.conf fil (openLDAP side) like this: slapd.conf TLSCertificateFile ./ssl/srvLDAP.pem TLSCertificateKeyFile ./ssl/srvLDAP.key TLSCACertificateFile ./ssl/cacert.pem ldap.conf BASE <ma branche> URI ldaps://srvLDAP/ TLS_CACERT ./ssl/cacert.pem TLS_REQCERT demand I launched my openLDAP service, and checked ldaps protocol was okay, using this command : C:\Program Files\OpenLDAP>ldapsearch -b o=exemple,dc=fr -s sub -x -w pass-D cn=admin,o=exemple,dc=fr -H ldaps://srvLDAP/ Now I would like, from the remote apache server, communicate with the openLDAP server using [b]LDAPS[/b] Protocol. Delta-syncrepl and delay in replication

Hi All, I am testing delta-syncrepl using OpenLDAP 2.3.43.7(actually as ZimbraLDAP on ZCS 5.0.16). It spends a lot of time to complete replication when adding 20,000 or 200,000 objects(accounts) to the master at a time. [Time for replication] User time(updates to master) replica1 replica2 ------------------------------------------- 20,000 0:19:03 0:58:51 1:19:29 200,000 2:38:03 4:33:39 13:33:38 [Setting value in LDAP] *checkpoint = 10240 *Thread numbers = 8 *Security = 0(zimbra_require_interprocess_security) *The following operation is actually executed by each user in a loop. 1.Add account 2.Add settings(filters,contacts,signatures) for an account 3.Update the setting of the created account There seems no performance problem with writing accesslog to the database, thus, updates to the master server was finished successfully in reasonable time. Also, it seems that there is no bottleneck such as resource of the servers, and we still have extra spaces on CPU, memory and network. I've attached the servers spec. I assume there will be a problem with the process of pushing data from LDAP master to multiple replicas, but is this process serialized ? How can we reduce the replication time on replica servers? I think updates could not be delayed on the replicas themselves because only the secondary replica took a lot of time to update data. And we don't have plan to execute export/import method. OU string representation in openldap

Hello, One of the our application functionality reads the hosts data from the ldap particularly dn - "ou=hosts, ou=hostdata,o=BT" and from application point this dn will be updated when we add any new hosts in administration tab. In application there is no restriction on the host name to be entered. It can be anything mean it can accept _ (underscore) , (comma) .(dot). But when this code snippet reads this DN and in case if the ou has characters like . or , or _ it will throw exception when it reads such dn(s). We tried changing putting string syntax to this particular attribute and tried but getting the same results. Is this the expected behavior? And is there a way we can change this behavior?
