Hi all,
Say that my bindpw is d!ffs3r^ (it, of course, is not). What is the proper way to use this passwd in ldap.conf or nslcd.conf so that the special characters are not interpreted incorrectly?
Thanks!
Alex
Nevermind... It works with no punctuation at all.

For static passwords in a configuration file which do not have to be typed in by a user I use randomly generated ACSII-only passwords but with 16+ chars length.
