If you know how to build OpenLDAP manually, and would like to participate in testing the next set of code for the 2.4.38 release, please do so.
Generally, get the code for RE24:
Configure & build.
Execute the test suite (via make test) after it is built.

configured as: ./configure --enable-bdb=no --enable-hdb=no --enable-overlays=yes
all 48 tests (which were not skipped) pass on
OS/X 10.8.5 RHEL 6.4 (Santiago) x86_64 OpenIndiana (oi-dev-151a8)

On a CentOS 6.4 x86_64 VM:
./configure make depend make make tests
0 tests for mdb were skipped.

Successfully built packages for debian wheezy. All tests passed.
