When i use this command;
/usr/bin/ldapadd -x -D 'uid=root,dc=fedora,dc=directory,dc=server' -W -f /tmp/domain.ldif
after entering the LDAP password i get this error: ldap_bind cannot contact ldap server.
Any help or guideline will be appreciated.

at first, make sure the server is listening/running. You can check this by % ps aux | grep slapd; or % netstat -nlp | grep slapd;. If the server is listening, then I'd suggest to check '/etc/openldap/ldap.conf', but you will have to consult with Fedora's documentation for location of this file, or try to provide -H option to % ldapsearch; which specifies host to connect to. I think the option is eg. ldap://myhost:389

Try ldapadd -h switch, or make sure you put 127.0.0.1 into ldap-listening sockets, /etc/default/slapd with debian, god knows where with other distros.. Regards
