I installed ldap client and software on two ubuntu machines. but when i try to log in with the phpldapadmin gui it displays

i am new to ldap and i cudnt really find a forum or thread which was talking about this problem.

Did you edit /etc/openldap/slapd.conf? Did you start slapd(8)? Read man slapd.conf(5), man slapd(8), man slapd-bdb(5), man slapd.access(5), http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin24/
