In OpenLDAP there is a global limit of (2^32)-1 bytes. In practice it's probably smaller than that, depending on how much RAM you have.

In X.500 schema it is possible to define an advisory max length per attribute, but nothing is required to enforce it. In OpenLDAP such schema annotations are ignored.
