Ok, so I reloaded my dev environment with a fresh snapshot of production data, and started it back up. After a couple hours, all of the servers started producing this entry in the accesslog db:

Looks like it lost the serverID, which is exactly what I saw. Note the #000#
One other thing -- Did any of your servers go into refresh mode prior to this loop starting?
grep REFRESH in the log.
