thanks for the clarification. i had read the description here : http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin24/appendix-changes.html#Better%20 {{B:cn=schema}}%20functionality which seemed to suggest deletion was now possible.
Individual schema elements may be deleted using ldapmodify. Deleting of entire entries via ldapdelete is not supported. (And was never intended to be supported, although as Ralf mentioned, things in HEAD have changed in that regard.)
