Sorry for the noise, I failed a 'git checkout OPENLDAP_REL_ENG_2_4' beeing in HEAD.
As "HEAD" is a time-variant value (like "CURRENT") it would be helpful to talk about real revisions when drying to discuss differences IMHO. There's a "git describe" if you don't want to refer to the head of "git log" or "git reflog"...
