Hello, I'm working on the same project as Meheni. Thanks for your answer, we'll try version 2.6 OpenLDAP using the lastbind-precision. However we have several questions for the current version we're using. Is this a known problem and referenced somewhere? (we haven't found it) Is it normal to find no replication error logs even in stats + sync mode? Hi Team, We are migrating our source code to use openldap client libraries instead of nsldap libraries. We have the below query for the openldap team. Please share your thoughts on this feature availability in the openldap library. nsldap has the below feature while validating TLS Connections. please refer to the nss tool, and refer to the section "Options and Arguments" https://www-archive.mozilla.org/projects/security/pki/nss/tools/certutil -t trustargs Specify the trust attributes to modify in an existing certificate or to apply to a certificate when creating it or adding it to a database. There are three available trust categories for each certificate, expressed in this order: "SSL, email, object signing". In each category position use zero or more of the following attribute codes: p Valid peer P Trusted peer (implies p) c Valid CA T Trusted CA to issue client certificates (implies c) C Trusted CA to issue server certificates (SSL only) (implies c) u Certificate can be used for authentication or signing w Send warning (use with other attributes to include a warning when the certificate is used in that context) The attribute codes for the categories are separated by commas, and the entire set of attributes enclosed by quotation marks. For example: -t "TCu,Cu,Tuw" Use the -L option to see a list of the current certificates and trust attributes in a certificate database. our query: Does openldap provide trustargs support to verify TLS connection? Syncrepl getting stuck on partial sync

Hello All! I have multiple setups with a Provider(2.6.4) and consumer(2.6.2) with RefreshAndPersist. From time to time I see data missing in the consumer e.g only groups are present and all users are missing, even though users were never removed from the Provider, and were present in the Consumer beforehand. On the Provider all data is present and correct. I can still see the incoming connection, from the Consumers Sync, in the Provider without errors. No errors on the Comsumer logs from syncrepl (with -256 logs). Attempted to look in debug (-1 logs), but nothing caught my eye. When this happened I attempted restart services on both the Provider and the Consumer, disabling and re-enabling the sync on the Consumer. Only clearing the Consumers database seemed to fix the issue. There maybe be sporatic failures in the network connectivity between both systems. This is the config on the Consumer olcSyncrepl: {0}rid=000 provider=ldaps://Provider:636 type=refreshAndPersist retry="30 5 300 +" searchbase="ou=subtree,dc=test,dc=net" scope=sub schemachecking=on binddn="cn=Manager,dc=test,dc=net" credentials=credentials keepalive=240:10:30 Any advice on how to troubleshoot this or fix it?

Maximum Replicating Consumers

Hi Friends, Is there a hard limit on the number of consumers that can replicate from a provider? I have a 3 provider master multi master configuration where each consumer is aware of all 3 providers and replicate with refreshAndPersist. Over time we find that the consumers stop getting updates from providers. We enabled keepalive on our replication configs and see that keepalive takes effect. After the idle timer expires keepalive seems to think the connection is still active. Is it possible the providers simply stop pushing changes to some consumers, or fail to push to some at a high number of consumers? What would be the potential failures modes of providers who are expected to push to a high number of consumers? Thanks for the considerations, Tom

No permissions on files created by LMDB

I am attempting to use LMDB for the first time, on Mac OS 14.6 on an Apple Silicon (M3) Mac, using Apple’s clang compiler. The issue I am having is that when LMDB creates new data and lock files, they are created with no permissions at all, and then LMDB fails to open the file with error #13: Unable to open LMDB environment: Permission denied. After this happens, a directory listing (ls -l) shows this: ---------- 1 iemmons staff 8.0K Jul 31 14:45 tempFile.db-lock Where a typical directory entry on my system looks like this: -rw-r--r-- 1 iemmons staff 6.7K Apr 16 10:33 SomeFile.txt Is this issue something that you all might recognize and perhaps even know the fix for? multi-master OpenLDAP with SASL/GSSAPI

I developed a Bash script (https://launchpad.net/linuxha) to automate the installation and configuration of complex Linux software that is out of reach for most people. I want the syntax of this script to be perfect so I can use it as a teaching tool to educate people about Linux. If anyone on this mailing list is knowledgeable about multi-master OpenLDAP with SASL/GSSAPI authentication, please review the OpenLDAP/SASL/GSSAPI code that is part of my LinuxHA script and provide feedback. OpenLDAP version: 2.4.44 Requirement: How to configure the slapd.conf file to successfully synchronize user information between master and slave servers from different DCs, to keep the user DC consistent with the slave server DC. Current issue: 1. When filling in the syncrepl synchronization rule with suffixmassage "dc=ws,dc=sip,dc=com" "dc=ws,dc=slave2,dc=sip,dc=com", it shows Error: parse_syncrepl_line: unable to parse "suffixmassage".

question about partial replication

Hello, I’m trying to build a partial replication, but due to the structure of our ldap directory I’m wondering how to do : I have an ou branch for people that I want to replicate (ou=people,<prefix>) I have an ou branch for groups that I want to replicate (ou=groups,<prefix>) I have an ou branche for sudo that I want to replicate (ou=sudo,<prefix>) I guess that the setup for that is to replicate on <prefix> base and just filter on the objectClass BUT… my problem is that I have another ou branch for some people (ou=otherPeople,<prefix>) that I don’t want to replicate, but that contains exactly the same objects than then ou=people,<prefix> branch, so I can not use a filter on objectClass, there is no specific attribut that allow to say if an object belongs to ou=otherPoeple ou to ou=People I wonder what is the correct solution to achieve my goal. I was wondering if I could put several olcSyncrepl on the database with the same provider but one for every ou that I want to replicate ? Or is there a better way to do ? Openldap 2.6.8 installation some minor questions

Hello, I have just ran into un install from source of 2.6.8 on an ubuntu24.04 server. I have had some minor problems with systemd, but maybe it’s my fault. I have compiled openldap with —with-tls and —with-systemd But on the service file there was no ldaps:// in url list, maybe it’s normal ? On the service file there is a reference of a /etc/sysconfig/slapd Environment file but this file is not installed with the make install, maybe I did miss a point ? And I wonder for the location of the slapd.service file, it is put in the main /usr/lib/systemd/system . As I have not put openldap in the main /usr/ hierarchy directory but /usr/local (that is the default), I was expecting to find slapd.service in /etc/systemd/system directory.
