I don't know when it was introduce specifically, but support for ipv6 has been around for quite some time. Check out the "-6" option to slapd.

It's been present at least since OpenLDAP 2.0 and was robust by 2.3, though the latest IPv6 fix listed in CHANGES is for 2.4.14.
CHANGES also indicates there was a hiccup in early 2.4, fixed in 2.4.13.
