What kind of log are you referring to? syslog, log database or monitor database?

log databasem, the files like log.000000x in /var/ldap/

These are the transaction logs of BerkeleyDB, the tools to analyse this logs are db_stat, db_recover http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17276_01/html/utility/index.html
