Thanks for the reply. Anyone know of a decent dummies guide to compiling mingw exes? I've never done this before. Thanks,

IIRC, it's the same as normal on *unix, that's the point:
/configure --blah make depend make make test
Well, that's what I thought, but that makes normal cygwin exes (and I get my error) when, according to a post by Buchan Milne, I should be trying to make mingw exes instead.
