Removing the contextCSN values will have no effect if there still exist entries in your database with an entryCSN of serverID's you have since gotten rid of. using two password hashes

Hello, the userPassword is a multivalued attribute. If there are set two values with different schemes, how will openldap handle the request? Will only checked one password and if it is wrong, the access will be declined or will openldap proceed to the second password hash? If both userPassword schemes differs, which one will be used first? Is the handling configurable? thank you Meike

Permission issue for normal user with ldap_add

Hi OpenLDAP team, I'm new to openLDAP. So this could be a trivial question, please let me know if I missed anything. I'm trying to add entries to "dc=example,dc=com" using ldap_add. It is working fine for super user (root), but we are getting permission error for normal user (non root). I'm able to update with ldap_modify for normal user. Could you please let me know how can we give permissions to any specific user to add entries using ldap_add. Thanks in advance. Regards J.Visu

Hi,I am trying to define into a custom schema the organizationIdentifier attribute, as defined in the doc of ITU x.520 standards: organizationIdentifier ATTRIBUTE ::= { WITH SYNTAX UnboundedDirectoryString EQUALITY MATCHING RULE caseIgnoreMatch SUBSTRINGS MATCHING RULE caseIgnoreSubstringsMatch SINGLE VALUE TRUE LDAP-SYNTAX directoryString.&id LDAP-NAME {"organizationIdentifier"} ID id-at-organizationIdentifier }I managed to start slapd by inserting into a custom schema this: objectidentifier id-at-organizationIdentifier 2.5.4.97 attributeType ( id-at-organizationIdentifier NAME 'organizationIdentifier' DESC 'X520 attribute Organization Identifier' SUP name EQUALITY caseIgnoreMatch SUBSTR caseIgnoreSubstringsMatch SINGLE-VALUE ) But i cannot understand which objectclass can use this attribute and how to add an object using it.

openldap slowness after restoration

LDAP search rule to find group owners

We've got LDAP ACLs to restrict who can make changes to a group, like this one: to dn.sub="ou=groups,dc=example,dc=com" by dnattr="owner" write by set="this/owner/member & user" write by users none by * none so that both direct owners and people in groups that are owners can modify the group they own. This works really well but now I want to list all of the groups that a DN matches against as an owner. For direct owners, that is simple enough, but where someone is in a group and that group is an owner, it becomes trickier. Is there a way of performing an LDAP search that does the equivalent of the ACL (or something like it) to tell me which groups can be written to for a given DN? Regards Philip
