Red Hat recently patched the libldap in Enterprise Linux 8 to "support" RFC 6125 in direct violation of the recommendations in section 1.4 of that RFC. Due to the significant issues with RFC 6125 (https://lists.openldap.org/hyperkitty/list/openldap-announce@openldap.org...), we consider these changes harmful. It is advised to avoid use of the OpenLDAP libraries as provided by Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and its derivatives.
