choice, nor would any other implementor that wanted to claim that their
LDAP product was fully IETF-compliant.
Thankfully, it's pretty unlikely this will happen any time soon. There
are still free low-numbered ports, the whole low-numbered port thing is
becoming less of an issue, and even among the assignments, there are ones
that are far more obscure and less used than ldaps.
