There's a new man page in 2.4 (slapd-config), but basically:
"Alternatively, an existing slapd.conf file can be converted to the new format using slapd or any of the slap tools: slaptest -f /usr/local/etc/openldap/slapd.conf -F ETCDIR/slapd."
Note that this feature was already documented in the existing slapd/slapadd/slap* manpages in 2.3. It's a shame that we go to the trouble of writing these docs that nobody actually reads.
