I am seeing slapd crashing repeatedly when assigning empty password to a user account. The version is 2.3.39. Is this a known problem?
Or another question is how do we disable a user account with OpenLDAP?

You can move account from ou=users,o=foo to ou=locked users,o=foo or use groups for authorization, or just add *LOCKED* before users hash in userPassword attribute. For samba you can use sambaAcctFrags [D]

Can't reproduce with current 2.3, 2.4 or HEAD code; can you be more precise?
