At this point, nearly all complaints about the state of the Debian packages are rightfully directed at the lack of resources on the Debian side. There may be some issues that could be reasonably considered a shared responsibility were the packages in much better shape, but at this point they're swamped by the lack of volunteer resources to absorb new upstream releases and do reasonable bug triage.
Is this issue filed on Debian bugtracker?
Yes. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=512360
As you can see, the bug has gotten a fair number of replies, but unfortunately so far they've not translated into more people with time to do work.
Well, I see. I'm going to migrate setup in my organization to LDAP soon. So, I'm interested in the success of this, and by the way this is why I've subscribed to the list.
I have some questions not answered before I can migrate, will start new thread. Shortly, there is 200+ users with mix of UNIX, Samba, Postfix, Cyrus, eJabberd accounts.
Maybe I can help in testing. Need some invertigation of questions/bugs.
