A lot of work was done between 2.2 and 2.3 to further optimize search speed in bdb & hdb. I would be curious if you encounter the same issues with a newer release.

Thanks to all for your good advices.

Upgrading to 2.3.27 solves all of these issues.

Execution time of a bunch of complex filters was about 8s. All is done now in 0.03 s with the same filter parameters. Amazing.
